The Panultima Staff
The staff of the Panultima EndEffect Freeshard consists of three teams for on-shard support and entertainment, the Counselor-corpse (often also referred to as the “Intelligence Team“), the Seer-corpse (aka “Fiction and Creation Team) and last but not least the GM-corpse (also known as the “Team for everything the other ones can't do“). Additionally to those basic teams count our highly appreciated freelancers, for example people that are responsible for advertising, who are shard-reporters or who help us increase our web-content.
In itself, each of the three basic teams is split up into different kinds of positions again.
The Intelligence Team (Counselors)
Counselor |
Counselors are known by almost every player – they are extremely helpful, friendly and nice people with a very good knowledge of UO and especially EndEffect. They are spending their time with helping out both – new players and veterans – and will also solve minor technical problems for you, like for example freeing you when you are stuck. Counselors are easily recognized by their nice blue robes, and often are teasingly called “smurfs“.
In case a Counselor cannot help he will either try to fetch his “boss“, or he will try to get a GM for help. The promoted form of a counsellor is the “Senior Counselor“ (SRC). SRCs are experienced counselors that have dedicated quite some amount of time to the Panultima EndEffect and therefore were rewarded with a bit more power and the allowance to mentor new counselors. They are able to fix the more common technical problems, like for example replacing a lost item or releasing a player from jail. In a crowd you might easily spot them – they are wearing dark purple robes.
Now, what the SRC is for counselors is the SLC for SRCs (SLC = Shard Lead Counselor). The SLC is actually a person with full GM-power and his main task is to coordinate the work of SRCs and Counselors, hold meetings, find new solutions for problems, etcetc. SLCs are only rarely spotted outside Green Acres, but if they are they wear light blue robes.
The Fiction and Creation Team (Seers)
![]() |
Seers are living fictional elements – they are responsible for developing new storylines, creating and running quests and plots, and they will also simply roleplay with you. Of course, you can never know what they are having at their backs, so I would highly suggest listening to those creative minds carefully! Who knows, maybe they will tell you about a sunken treasure? An ancient enemy? It might happen though, that they simply want to have a nice and comfortable ale with you aswell.
Seers in their “original“ form are dressed in green robes. Nevertheless, this form of a Seer is rare, and most of the time they will be “disguised“ and look like the almost average player.
The next higher instance of a Seer is the “Elder (Seer)“. Those people come in brown robes, and actually are what SRCs are for counselors. They coordinate different little quests within their teams and generally help out other Seers with their work.
The leader of the Fiction-team finally is the IGM (Interest Game Master). This, again, is a person with full GM-powers, and traditionally he wears a black robe (although red would be allowed as well). IGMs are there to coordinate the Seer team, introduce large storylines and quests with famous personalities.
A sub-form of a normal Seer is the “Assistant Seer“. Those are people who help somewhere else in the staff already, but decided to help the Seer-team as well. The only difference between them and “full“ Seers is that they will spend much less time with the creation of original things.
The Technical Team (GameMasters)
GMs will only rarely be sighted in public – in fact they are not allowed to go visible unless it is necessary. If you spot a usually red (or black) robe and did something wrong you know that you are in trouble. So better run – oh wait, you cannot anymore.
GMs are there to assure the smoothness of the gameplay. They assist all other teams, build additions and spawns and can fix most on-shard problems (as long as the problem is not a problem of the software). Generally GMs do everything the other teams cannot – or should not have to waste time with.
There are only two forms of GMs – GameMasters and SeniorGameMasters (GMs and SGMs). The difference between them is extremely little, though. Additionally there are two special forms of GMs that were introduced earlier already: the IGM (Interest Game Master) and the SLC (Shard Lead Counselor).
All members of our staff are extremely nice and very dedicated people.
