Joining the Panultima Staff

So you decided to become a member of one of the Panultima Staff-teams and found your way to this page? Wonderful! Below you should find everything you need to know.

Firstly you will need to decide which team you want to join. You cannot directly apply for GM-ship, the only positions that are available for new and inexperienced (at least here on EndEffect) staffers are those of a Seer and a Counselor. You might want to read the page "About the Panultima Staff" to learn more about the different teams and the organization of our staff!

Also, feel free to contact our current Staff Coordinator Sunrise at sunrise@endeffect.org if you are in need of assistance! Also, feel free to ask active members of the staff for advice – they are indeed a lovely bunch!

So, once you decided you will have to fill out an Application-Form. Forms for Seers and Counselors are different, but do not think that becoming a counsellor is easier just because the form is shorter! In fact we are very picky with our staff – we are trying to ensure the highest quality support and fiction and reduce the chance of power abuse to a minimum! After all, our players have only served the best – and we are trying to live up to this standard.

General Expectations of Panultima Staff Members

If you want to join our staff you should be at least 18 years or older. This has most of all legal reasons, additionally we want our staff to act mature and professional. We are generally making exceptions with the age, so if you are 16 or 17 and think you are mature feel free to apply nevertheless. Keep in mind though that the allowance of your parents is required in such cases and you must provide us a written allowance of your parents via standard mail prior to us accepting you into staff.

Secondly, you must have actively played on EndEffect for a minimum of three months. (And this does not mean that you logged in once, of course). This has the simple reason that we want to have our staff a profound knowledge not only of UO, but even more of EndEffect in specific.

You do not have to have any staff-experience after all. If you have, nice! If not – wonderful! Maybe some things are easier for people who have volunteered for UO before, but be assured that we really think that everything can be learnt, and that we will show you everything you need to know! So, don't be shy – apply!

Your player account must not have any marks. We will not accept notorious troublemakers to our staff, because most of the time they are just that – troublemakers. We expect our staffers to demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the rules not only with their staff-characters, but even more with their players. So, please play fair and check back if you are not sure if something is allowed or not.

Becoming a Counselor.

Firstly, have a close look at the Counselor-Application-Form. Fill in the required information – I don't think that you will have any problems understanding the questions.

Please, be honest with your experience and alike. It does not matter to us if you have never volunteered before – but it bothers us greatly if you are not telling us the truth!

Also, please write in complete sentences – your application is the first impression we are gaining! Be assured, you want it to be a good one!

We will then look over your application, please allow some time to pass by before you are getting worried if we received it! At times we have to work through quite some applications, and it might take us about a week to answer yours.

If we think that our first impression of you was a good one you will be invited to our IRC-channel for an interview. We are doing this to get known to you more personally and find out more about you. Please try to keep in mind that we are not trying to torture you! In fact we are entirely thankful that you wish to help us out!

After the interview is done and you have been approved a Senior-member of the Counselor team will take you a bit beneath his/her wings and show you the ropes – this is what we call mentoring. Don't worry, this is supposed to be fun after all – and you passed the hard part already!

Becoming a Seer.

So, Seer is your choice? Wonderful! Firstly you might want to have a glance at the Seer Application Form . Please make sure that you read our Seer Application Help before you start working on it! In this guide you will find a lot of hints and useful information – handle your application with care!

As the Seer-Application-Form is much more work to fill in and we are not that mean after all (and because we think that we know enough about you after reading your application already) you will not have to do an interview once your application has been approved.

Just like a new Counselors new Seers are taken care about by Senior-members of the Seer-corpse. Again, a mentoring – so to say, a “basic-training“ to help you to find your way around easier, and of course to give you a chance to learn about the rules you will have to follow!

But I want to be a GM - NOW!!

As noted above, the only way to become a GM on EndEffect is to work your way up from either Seer or Counselor. We will not accept GMs “the direct way“, for one because we prefer to have people we know and absolutely trust in those positions, and secondly EndEffect is different in many ways. It also won't impress us if you know how to use Axis – using this program would not help you after all.

Just to make this clear for once and ever: we also will not accept GM-applications from Ex-OSI-GMs, Ex-Shard-Admins or people who try to bribe us with something. We are deaf for such requests, so please don't even try. See, the deal is: we are constantly having people in the “waiting-queue“. Those are people that have been members of our staff for a long time and every single of them would have earned a GM-position. Unluckily we only have so and so many open positions, and it would be very, very unfair to fill those with people we do not even know.
